Short Course
Screen Acting Intensive

(in-person)

Course Overview

In this three-day ‘Screen Acting’ intensive, you’ll dive deep into the process of working as an actor on screen—from auditioning all the way through to post-production. Using exercises rooted in the Meisner technique, we’ll explore contemporary scripts, and  help you build confidence in front of the camera.

For any screen actor, active listening is crucial to creating authentic, believable performances. This course will equip you with the tools and techniques to break free from overthinking, shift the focus away from your own performance, and put your attention fully on your scene partner. As many top casting directors say, “We want to see your scene partner’s reaction on your face!”

You’ll also have the chance to shoot scenes, watch your work back, and receive personalized 1-on-1 feedback, all aimed at helping you take your screen acting to the next level.

What will I have learnt by the end of the course?

The Screen Acting Course will look at acting in film and television and include casting for screen, Self-tape, finding work, how to approach a script, shooting short scenes, developing new acting techniques, adapting existing skills, dealing with technical pressures, set dynamics and identifying ‘bad habits’. You’ll gain an understanding of the overall production process, and explore techniques and craft that will deepen your screen acting skills and understanding.

This intensive film and television acting course will feature professional equipment and playback facilities. This will enable students to experience the shooting environment through “mock shoots” and analyse their progression throughout.
