Charles was born and raised in Birmingham. Prior to joining The Oxford School of Drama, he performed at The Warwick Arts Centre and Edinburgh Fringe in numerous productions including Alistair McDowall’s ‘X’ and Mike Bartlett’s ‘Earthquakes in London’.
