Chair of the Board and Trustees
The Oxford School of Drama is looking for a Chair of the Board and 5 new trustees to join us in shaping the future of our world-leading conservatoire.
Who we are looking for
If you are committed to helping students to meet their full potential, and providing them with the best opportunities to find work in theatre, film and television, we would like to hear from you.
We welcome applications from anyone who believes they can make a strong contribution, including those with experience of business and finance, as well as artist practitioners and people with experience of training and student development. We are keen to receive applications from younger people aged under 40, and from those with a wide range of life experiences.
The School is implementing a major change programme following the appointment of a new principal, Edward Hicks, in 2019. And, like so many other organisations, we are adapting to changes in practice influenced by Covid-19 as well as responding to the pressing issues raised by #BlackLivesMatter.
We currently have seven Trustees and want to broaden the range of expertise and perspectives represented on our Board. We ask that you dedicate the time and effort required to fully participate as a Trustee. This includes meeting four times a year either in Oxford, London, or virtually, as well as participating in working groups and watching School activities.
What’s in it for you
This is an opportunity to see behind the scenes of one of the finest drama schools in the UK, and to shape its future. You’ll be sharing your expertise with, and learning from fellow Trustees, working with our exceptionally talented staff and tutors and, most importantly, contributing to our students’ futures.
How to apply
We will provide full support and training for new Trustees. For further information and to download the Chair or Trustee role descriptions please visit our website. To apply please send your CV, or a short summary of experience and a paragraph describing why you believe you could make a contribution to the future of the School, to our Executive Director, Liz Wilson: email@example.com You are also welcome to call Liz, or our Principal Ed Hicks, for an informal conversation, on 01993 812883.
The deadline for applications is Friday 27 November, and interviews will take place before Christmas 2020.
