Claire Foy has been nominated for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown for ‘Best Actress in a Series, Drama’ at The Golden Globe Awards.
The Golden Globe Award is an American accolade bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association recognising excellence in film and TV, both US and overseas. The annual formal ceremony and dinner at which the awards are presented take place in January are a major part of the US film industry’s awards season and broadcast to 167 countries worldwide. It generally ranks as the third most-watched awards show each year, behind only the Oscars and Grammy Awards.
