Ned grew up in a small village outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. Prior to training he worked professionally appearing in an all-male production of Macbeth (playing Lady Macbeth) at the Edinburgh Festival and in numerous short films including ‘Can you feel it?’ selected for the BFI Future Film Festival. Before the Oxford School of Drama he trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama on the foundation course, as well as The National Youth Theatre.
