We’re thrilled to announce Georgie Dettmer and Sammy J Glover as the writer and director for OSD’s 2026 New Writing Programme.

This programme brings writers and directors together with OSD’s One Year acting cohort to develop an entirely new play from the ground up. With the actors specifically in mind, the programme prioritises collaboration, experimentation, and bold creative risk-taking.

Over the course of the programme, Georgie and Sammy will lead a series of R&D workshops, working closely with the acting cohort to explore text, character, and form. These workshops will feed directly into the writing process, allowing the play to be shaped in the room before heading into rehearsals in the summer.

The programme reflects OSD’s commitment to nurturing new voices and creating meaningful opportunities for artists at a formative stage in their careers, placing collaboration among writers, directors, and actors at the heart of the process.

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome two artists whose practices are rooted in new writing, rigorous dramaturgy, and generous, actor-centred collaboration to the OSD family.
