Celebrating the award-winning actor, Babou Ceesay.

We are delighted to congratulate Oxford School of Drama alumnus Babou Ceesay on winning the Gotham Television Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Drama Series for his role in Alien: Earth.

A graduate of The Oxford School of Drama’s One Year Course, Babou has built an extraordinary career across stage and screen, earning acclaim for his powerful and nuanced performances in productions including Damilola, Our Loved Boy, Guerrilla, We Hunt Together, Wolfe and Shardlake. His performance in Damilola, Our Loved Boy earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor, cementing his place as one of Britain’s most compelling screen performers.

In Alien: Earth, Babou’s portrayal of Morrow has captivated audiences and critics alike, with his Gotham Award win recognising the depth and precision he brings to the role. Alongside his Gotham Award win, Babou has received nominations for Best Supporting Actor at the Film Independent Spirit Awards and the Saturn Awards. Morrow in Alien: Earth marks another major milestone in a career defined by bold choices and consistently outstanding performances.

And there is no sign of Babou slowing down. We were recently thrilled to share news of his casting in Black Doves Season 2, joining fellow OSD graduates in the next chapter of Netflix’s acclaimed espionage thriller. His addition to the cast continues a strong OSD presence within the series and adds yet another exciting credit to an already remarkable body of work.

Babou has also been announced as joining Season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, HBO’s critically acclaimed expansion of the Game of Thrones universe, further highlighting the scale and range of projects he continues to be part of.
