Two TV comedy dramas starring OSD graduates are nominated for a prestigious Rose d’Or Award

Sex Education and Derry Girls are both nominated for a 2019 Rose d’Or Award in the category ‘Comedy Drama and Sitcom’. One Year Course graduate Tanya Reynolds stars in Netflix’s Sex Education as Lily, the sex-mad clarinetist and Foundation Course graduate Nicola Coughlan plays Clare Devlin, the voice of reason in the Derry Girls’ gang.

The Rose d’Or Awards were first given out in 1961 in Montreux, Switzerland, where the annual award ceremony for entertainment programming remained for 40 years. Berlin has been home to the Rose d’Or for the past three years. Recent winners include The Crown, Gogglebox and The Graham Norton Show. Past recipients of Rose d’Or Special Awards include Joanna Lumley, Angela Lansbury, James Corden, Jan Böhmermann and John Cleese.
