Nell plays Skerrett who is loosely based on a real-life member of Buckingham Palace’s serving staff – mysteriously appears soon after the accession with a recommendation from the Chiswick Institute. She becomes assistant to Jenkins, the Queen’s prickly personal dresser. Outlander fans will know Nell as Laoghaire MacKenzie, the wily young woman who is scorned by Sam Heughan’s Jamie.
