BAFTA nominations for Claire Foy and Babou Ceesay

The Oxford School of Drama graduates Claire Foy and Babou Ceesay have been nominated in the categories of Leading Actress and Leading Actor respectively in the 2017 BAFTAs.
Claire has been nominated for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix’s THE CROWN. This is her second consecutive nomination. In 2016 she was nominated for her role as Anne Boleyn in BBC Two’s adaptation of WOLF HALL.

Seán reprises his role one of the three Connolly brothers on which An Klondike centres and is joined by Tim who plays Micí Bán Connolly. The Irish TV series has been critically acclaimed and was nominated for 10 awards at last year’s Irish Film and Television Awards, winning five, including the prestigious award for Best Drama Series. Season 2 picks up a few weeks after the climactic events that brought the first season to a close and continues the story of the Connolly brothers as they struggle to forge an empire for themselves during the Klondike gold rush of the 1890s.

Lee Rufford wins 2017 BBC Audio Drama Award

Lee Rufford for New Story page

Lee has won the ‘Best Debut Performance’ in the BBC Audio Drama awards which celebrate the best of radio. Lee won the award for his performance in The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner directed by Carl Prekopp. The production was made by Goldhawk Essential for Radio 4.
